Well, I am trying to change my perception about the ribbon from an actual habitable space to a shell structure that houses other programmatic elements as plugins such as the indoor theater and the galleries. I am trying to slope it towards the park so I can create a pull back movement as I go up in the building. Use ribbons shell exterior as a passage to access the roof top terraces created by other block i.e. school and residential blocks. In addition, I moved the public cafe from the corner of the project to the center where it has direct access to out door space as well as the passage from broadway to the 5th ave with the outdoor theater running under it and the main theater is at the background (this creates a public center or plaza where visitors can utilize it as a beginning or ending points of their visit.
In progress:
- Figure out placement of galleries relative to performance spaces (Experience through circulation)
- Finalize circulation core locations (awaiting gallery placement)
- I have some ideas of structure, materials but need to finalize program placement to start digging in those areas.
