Thoughts?
I know as of now this is a bit of a mess, but before I start fixing things I just wanted to get some feedback before I start adding and fixing things.
What I know I still need to do :
- progress with plan and section diagrams/changes, what is there is just an example of how i am going to show changes.
-change how the community animation came out. I wanted to get the point out that although there is 'static' program, the community coherently runs through the whole prototype.
Thoughts about a day in the life ? Should I continue with different scenarios in that fashion or illustrate it differently? I had a thought about somehow showing it as someone "walking through" via plan diagrams that run simultaneously with that illustration.

Concern over real purpose of Rio walls
http://bcove.me/65j7odt5
Are the walls in Rio de Janeiro being built around the city's favelas serving as eco-barriers, or hiding the city's social problems?
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, site of 2014 football world cup and 2016 Olympicshas begun planning and building over eight miles of so-called "eco-barriers" around hundreds of its sprawling favela slums to protect the rainforest.
But many think that these eco-concerns are serving as cover for another, less benevolent purpose: walling in, and containing, the city's slums.
The state government in Brazil are planning to build eight miles of concrete walls around 19 favelas in Rio De Janeiro.
Dona Marta in the North of the city is where one the controversial walls was finished earlier this year.
Rochinha in the south, home to 150,000 residents, has a new wall under construction.
And in downtown Mare, the biggest cluster of favelas in Rio, the government wants to build a barrier to protect the locals from the sound of a nearby motorway.

Walk-Thru Boards
You are each to prepare a 30 x 40 proportion (not inches!) "board" as a PDF file of 1 MB maximum. Put your file in the Cody Section and use the last 4 digits of your student ID as your file name.
On your board, please be sure to include the following information in enough clarity and detail (but no more!) that we can all understand your thesis, and intention.
1. THESIS TITLE and BRIEF description of the problems and issues you have identified, as well as your intentions and approaches to studying them.
2. PRECEDENT STUDY including functional/spacial/plastic/other? analysis and indication of how these precedents are relevant to your thesis.
3. PROGRAM INFORMATION in 2 and 3 dimensions, to scale as appropriate. Functional relationship and other diagrams as appropriate.
4. SITE INFORMATION be sure to include sufficient context so that anyone can quickly find where in the world your site is. Show plan, section, and other information such as access, services, historical evolution, and so on. Show site information in as many scales as is needed to communicate your intentions.
5. PLASTIC RESEARCH. Photo and drawing documentation of any and all appropriate 2 and 3D studies of form, transformation, spacial organization, etc. and make clear how they have guided your thesis.
6. ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES that integrate all of the above information into more or less rough proposals into a design for human scaled habitable space.
This board is to be a quick precis and summary of your thesis, not the whole thing. You do not need to show everything on this board, and most likely you won't be able to. Rather than all plans and sections, say, one significant well-developed plan and one well developed section will show the general progress of your work at this time. The rest of those drawings can be presented during your final review jury.
It would be nice if your board is clear and beautiful. I am happy to review your drafts of these boards on your computer during Tuesday's class if you wish.
Thesis Final Reviews on Monday December 17 and Tuesday December 18 will proceed in person and as originally scheduled.

Status Update
Thankfully I am doing alright after this storm and all. Haven't had power the whole week until yesterday morning. Been steadily continuing with the organization of my boards and all.
Ironically, taking into consideration with all that has happened as a result of Hurricane Sandy, I can utilize the statistics that will generate in the next couple of weeks, and my own personal experiences, to enhance the Disaster preparation, relief, and fortification design factors related with my thesis project.

All ok?
Hi all,
I hope everyone is safe and sound without too much disruption or major damages! Please post or email that you are all ok!!
Regarding your projects and presentation, continue on your current path and use this time if you are able to focus your work. We will have the 2nd half of the pin-up as soon as NYIT is back online.
Post or send me your progress and I'll (we'll) do my (our) best to assist in moving your ideas forward.
Build and rebuild those models and drawings.

I think I got it?!
So, I think I was over thinking my goal for the past 2 weeks. And it just hit me that I had what I needed all along. So, basically my strategy is translating the major forms of arts i.e. Painting, Sculpting, photography, digital arts, music and theater into architecture tectonics; that is finding how they are similar, where do they overlap and how are they different. So, it all trickled down on how each form of art is projected in the real world i.e.
- a painting is projected on a canvas which is architecturally speaking is a simple 2D plane (Even though on the deep micro scale there is the relief of the brush strokes which deems it a 3D surface, but am not focusing on that level of deepness in the analysis)
- A Sculpture is a frozen moment in 3D space.
- Music is just sound with a meaning so that could translate as some sort of transparent element in space since it only exists as a reference in space.
- Theater, could be interpreted in the form of motion or the circulation through the previously discussed tectonics.
I don't know why I was in search of a deeper meaning or method of translating art into architecture that it drove away from my initial intent.
Please comment on your thoughts.
