It's interesting how a set of images can really begin to tell a story about the perception of the favelas from the interior, making Rio so unique in its slum situation. I think the writer sort of romanticizes about the urban future of these new 'cities', but as statistics show these places will continue to grow and it will come at a consequence if something isn't done to control this growth.
